Baptism - Sacrament of Initiation
Parents requesting to have their child Baptized must be practicing
Catholics and registered parishioners for at least three months.
In the case of a mixed religion family, this is expected of the Catholic
parent. First time parents (or if it's been more than 4 years
between children) must attend a Baptism class. Godparents are
strongly encouraged to attend the class and at least one godparent must
be a confirmed practicing Catholic. Parents are welcome to attend
the class before the birth of their child. Classes are held once a
month in the Parish Office Conference Room except for the months of July
and August. Baptisms are held after the 12:30 p.m. Sunday
Mass, once or twice a month. Please call the Parish Office to register.
Adults wishing to become Catholic need to contact the Faith Formation
Office at 313-563-0960 to register for
R.C.I.A (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
